This is the coupler under one of the runways that ties the lock release at each end of the lift together. I ended up knocking about 1/2" off of it to lessen the lateral play in the mechanism at the crossmembers. Before I did this, there was a good 1/2" of movement in the system and things were binding up. My mod left about 1/8" of lateral movement and the system runs much better.
