Ok, this one's a classic. Look at the middle of the upper edge of the photo. That's a piece of the old casing used as a shim. It was used to push the striker area of the jamb over far enough to actually REACH the door. Look at the bow at the bottom of my 6 foot level.
(BTW, this one leaned into the hallway at the top almost 3/4" in 6 feet...)
