I didn't get any pics of fitting this one up, but after a look at the framing from the crawl space side, I found the framing was not structural so I went ahead and notched it as well before fitting the patch panel in. Unfortunately, I dropped the patch panel right on the corner where the stair nose is and tweaked it a bit. I didn't feel like making a new one (It's getting late) so I just screwed this one off.
