This is the lockset striker for the rear exterior door. Zoom in to the lower screw on the striker plate. Completely stripped out and will require an extractor to rectify.
The raggedy holes on the jamb? That's where I cut caulk out to get to the ELEVEN screws holding the striker side of the jamb in. There were a whopping FOUR screws on the hinge side.
Not sure if it's visible, but if you look to the right and below the uppermost screw hole, you can see where the jamb has split due to somebody (Gee, I wonder who!?) getting way too aggressive with the driver. This is one of four spots that were split and caulked over.
