When I slid the header back into place after fixing the trimmers, I discovered it was about 3/4" too low for the new door jamb so I had to trim them off. That was a good thing because the ends of these things were A) Not squarely cut and B) looked like a woodpecker on meth had a go at them. Additionally, they were not cut to the same length so the header wasn't even close to level.
The left one cleaned up nicely and you can see a little of the raggedness left on the right one.
